US Sailing Race Management Seminar

The Eastern Yacht Club is hosting a one-day basic race management seminar on Saturday, April 2. The course will begin at 0800 hours and end at 1800 hours.
This seminar is designed for people who have some race committee experience, although newcomers are always welcome. Racers may also find the course useful, as the topics covered include Race Committee responsibilities, sailing instructions, setting courses, the starting system, starting penalties, preparation for the start, responsibilities during the race, finishing, and scoring.
The principal instructor for the seminar is Stephen B. Jeffries. Stephen is a USSailing Certified Senior Race Officer. Susan O. Schneider will help with the teaching; Susie is a USSailing Certified Club Race Officer.
The fee is $35.00 for USSailing members, and $70.00 for non-members. The fee includes a continental breakfast, morning and afternoon snacks, and lunch.
Registration is available by using the USSailing online registration system at http://www.ussailing.org/calendar. Search for the seminar by clicking on "Select a speciic category", then "Race Admin Education - Race Officer"; then "all future events" and "search". Locate this seminar and then click on "Register Online" and follow the directions.
