PHRF NEs Cancelled; Party Friday at BYC

The following notice was sent out by PHRF NE earlier today:
Event organizers and BYC, EYC and CYC Race Committees have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2011 Hanse Yachts PHRF New England Championship this weekend. The challenges created by Hurricane Irene are too numerous and the hurricane itself too unpredictable to proceed in a manner that assures both safety and fair racing.
HOWEVER,
There will be a Skippers Gathering from 5-7pm today at the Boston Yacht Club to pick up filled and fantastic 2011 Skippers Bags; redeem complimentary Gosling Rum and Ipswich Ale drink tickets; and buy commemorative t-shirts.
AND,
You, your crew, your family, your friends and your friends' friends are invited to the "Hurricane Irene Can't Stop the PHRF Fun" Party from 6-9pm on Friday August 26 at the Boston Yacht Club, 1 Front St, Marblehead. Join us to toast Irene with well-priced Goslings Rum and Ipswich Ale; claim 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes just for showing up; dance to DJ tunes; own a regatta T-shirt and enter the "Irene: Where will she land?" contest.
