Jackson Cup Team Racing in April
Posted On: March 28, 2010

The Boston Yacht Club will again host the Jackson Cup, an invitational team race challenge event named after former Commodore Dr. Robert F. Jackson. The teams selected to participate are chosen for having demonstrated "high level racing skills and corinthian spirit". The event began in 1999, and has been held in April each year since then; this year it will held on April 24th and 25th.

The racing is in Sonar class boats in Marblehead Harbor and the Boston clubhouse provides for optimal spectator viewing. Racing is held over two days, with eight teams competing. This year the teams chosen are from the Boston Yacht Club, the Corinthian Yacht Club, the Eastern Yacht Club, the New York Yacht Club, the Royal Thames Yacht Club, the Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club, the St. Francis Yacht Club, and the Southern Yacht Club.
