Fast Mermaid Gala Dinner and Regatta
May 19, 2022 and June 5, 2022
The Fast Mermaid Dinner and Regatta are benefit events being held for Lindsay Smith, daughter of Eastern Yacht Club members Jud and Cindy Smith and granddaughter of the late Bill and Beverlee Douglass, long time members of the Boston Yacht Club. Lindsay grew up sailing in Marblehead. She and three other young women raced Fast Mermaid at the Etchells Nationals in 2021, the only all female crew in the event. Last November, Lindsay was the victim of an assault and is still recovering. The benefit dinner and regatta are being held to assist her with expenses not covered by her benefits.
Thursday, May 19th, 2022 at 5:30 PM: Please join us for a fund raising dinner at the Eastern Yacht Club Sailing Center, May 19th, 2022, hosted by the Fast Mermaid Committee. Dinner will include an Italian-style buffet, a silent auction, and a Wine Pull raffle. And you can purchase the pink Fast Mermaid stickers with Lindsay's initials that are seen on cars and boats around town and as far south as Miami. Tickets for the Italian buffet dinner are $100 per person with proceeds from the evening's activities going to a fund for Lindsay. Attire: Wear pink for the mermaid!

Sunday, June 5th, 2022: Grab your crew and enter the pursuit-style sailing regatta for PHRF and One Design boats hosted by the Boston Yacht Club, Marblehead, MA. The NOR will be posted soon. https://www.bostonyc.org/racing. First Warning at 1200 hrs. Trophies and prizes will be awarded at the post-regatta party and cookout where you can participate in raffles and purchase Fast Mermaid stickers. Proceeds from the event will go directly to a fund for Lindsay. Again, wear pink!
