2026 MRA Summer Kick-Off
April 20, 2026
Dear MRA Sailors:
On behalf of the Marblehead Racing Association Committee, I welcome you to the 2026 racing
season. Whether you are a returning member or joining us for the first time, the MRA is
delighted to have you are part of our community.
The Marblehead Racing Association was founded in 1969 to encourage and foster the
development of racing skills at all levels of competition. Doing this requires commitment to
meeting the changing needs of the fleets as well as maintaining excellence in race
management. In order to fulfill this commitment, we work with outside clubs and meet with
experts about the new best practices and 'tricks of the trade.' And, of course, we poll our
members for their views and consult with our fleet representatives.
This season we are continuing to build on the changes we've made in the past few years: More
racing in less time and flexible racing locations. You can also expect more use of the robotic
marks on the water this year. We continue to use WhatsApp and ClubSpot for notifications.
Please review the NoRs and the SIs carefully and reach out to us with any questions.
Please note on June 6 and July 11 we have parties on the calendar. They will be hosted by the
CYC immediately following racing and we hope you and your crew can attend.
The MRA is one of the few sailboat racing organizations remaining that provides a regular
program of weekend events. As such, Marblehead sailors enjoy several races per week, with
the competition, camaraderie, and mutual respect that make the sport great.
Finally, the MRA also embraces our role as stewards of the oceans. Our regattas are clean and
we are committed to maintaining the beauty and health of our waters.
I would like to thank the members of the MRA Committee for their dedication, sacrifice, and
commitment this past off-season in preparing for the summer. We hope you like our work, and
we wish you a safe, fun, and exciting 2026 racing season.
